Welcome.

HI! I’m Rachel Dawn. Rachel is an artist, emerging expressive arts storytelling coach, and graduate student pursuing her MA in Expressive Arts Coaching and Community Building at the California Institute of Integral Studies. She holds a BA in Psychology from UC Santa Cruz and a BFA in Graphic Design from California College of the Arts, and brings over three decades of creative and entrepreneurial experience to her coaching practice, including founding and building an organic cotton clothing brand sold wholesale and retail worldwide. She lives on an apple farm in Sebastopol, California, where she is building community as intentionally as she builds her coaching practice.

Rachel's work centers on story as a pathway to transformation, using expressive arts, narrative practice, and trauma-informed, strengths-based approaches to help clients name, process, and express what they carry.

Rachel is perhaps most well-versed in the realm of grief, an apprenticeship she has kept for most of her life, beginning with losing her mother to mental illness at a young age. She is currently working on a multimodal, mixed-media arts memoir exploring the adaptive patterns that arrived with that loss, and how they've been met throughout her life since. Clients navigating any form of grief, from the loss of a loved one to divorce to Alzheimer's, are welcome here.

Her signature offering, Daughterline Lab, supports daughters of parents with mental illness in transforming inherited adaptive patterns into creative resilience and self-authorship through intentional community and multimodal expressive arts.

Tidy Messmaker was born from her own experience as a creative person with ADHD, drawn to building systems for the messes that keep showing up. She's committed to helping clients design lives and homes, and everything in between, that actually work for them.

With a warm, curious, and deeply collaborative approach, Rachel meets each client where they are, trusting that both the creative process and conversation hold real capacity for self-discovery and transformation.
